About
When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing - not even a smear of blood - to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
Review
This book didn't draw me in with the cover, not that i don't like it, it just wasn't the usual sort of thing i go for. The synopsis however was very interesting along with the prospect of quite a long series. We are introduced to Clary, a girl who happens to stumble upon a situation that changes her life, it starts her off to seeing things that she should have always seen. The characaters along with Clary are all well developed, it being easy to picture them and to know their personalities as if they were your own friends. There is romance between the main character and Jace, a gorgeous shadow hunter. I really enjoyed his character, not only because he was gorgeous but he was easilly likeable even if he was a bit full of himself.
The world in which Cassandra has set this story is mysterious and it is full of twists that will have you wanting to read until you finish it. It kept me hooked all the way through, although it took a bit to get into, i presume that was because of the need for explantion concerning the story. Being part of a series, this book obviously had to set them off, explaining the world and such. I really enjoyed this book, it was interesting and exciting but, the last twist wasn't what i expected or wanted. How this story can carry on in a certain sense, i don't know but i really want to find out.
